We are very pleased to make a new, special book recommendation: Wachs zwischen Himmel und Erde features Hans Hipp's unique collection of wax votives and wooden models. Many of the objects, some of which are extremely rare, are presented to the public for the first time in this artistically designed catalog. Hipp thus opens up "an almost forgotten chapter of cultural history" on the basis of old church records in so-called Mirakelbüchern  in which miraculous healings were reported. We congratulate on this work, which also provides us with a deep insight into the traditional craft of Lebzelter (gingerbread makers) and wax pullers.

Votive offerings as companions in life and devotion are constant themes here at Raum für Objekte. As three-dimensional wishes they provide protection and support in daily life and bear witness to the deepest desires of the heart.
The publication of Hans Hipp's unique collection, accompanied by contributions from Dr. Nina Gockerell and Benedikt Hipp, is a gain for research, for experienced collectors and everybody who wants to become newly or further enthusiastic about this topic.
